About the Cardinals
Saint Mary's is 4-10 overall, 3-8 in the MIAC and looking to snap a three-game losing streak Wednesday. After beating Carleton by nearly 30 points on Jan. 8, the Cardinals dropped a close game to Augsburg before losing to both St. Kate's and Concordia. Brooklyn Paulson continues to lead the MIAC in scoring at 17.7 points per game and she is also sixth with 6.9 rebounds per game.
Last Meeting
The Bennies had a big first quarter, outscoring the Cardinals 19-7, then held on for dear life in a 59-56 win on Dec. 1 in Claire Lynch. Neither team could find an offensive rhythm as CSB finished the game shooting 29 percent from the field and Saint Mary's shot 31 percent.
Carla Meyer was one of four Bennies to score in double digits with 15 points and
Tori Szathmary pulled down 12 rebounds.
The Storyline
Saint Benedict heads into Wednesday's road game coming off two close losses to the top teams in the league. The Bennies led Gustavus at halftime before falling 71-60, and had chances to pull away from the league-leading Auggies Saturday, but lost 64-63 when a last-second 3-pointer wouldn't fall. The team looks to bounce back and get in the W column once again to gain some momentum heading into three straight road games next week.
