NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict basketball team finally hits the road for the first time in 2022, traveling to Northfield on Jan. 10 for an evening conference matchup against St. Olaf. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Per St. Olaf policy, only fans on a pass list submitted by the CSB basketball program prior to the game will be admitted. Fans must be masked at all times while on St. Olaf's campus. Live stats and video will be available.

About the Oles

The Oles have begun their season 3-8 overall, 2-6 in conference play. Their last matchup was against Bethel on Saturday, and they lost 102-47. K'Lynn Lewis leads the Oles in scoring, averaging 12.9 points and three assists per game.

Last Meeting

The last time the Bennies and the Oles met on the court was Feb. 5, 2020, in Northfield. The Bennies kept a tight lead over the Oles but ended up taking the win home by just a three-point margin, winning 68-65. Madison Doran scored 11 points and pulled down four rebounds in the win.

The Storyline

The Bennies are looking to kick their offense into gear going forward as they struggled against a tough defensive Bethel squad on Jan. 5 and having to forfeit a game against St. Kate's on Jan. 8 due to COVID protocols. CSB is 7-3 overall, 4-4 in conference play to start the new year. The Bennies will be back home on Wednesday, Jan. 12 to play Gustavus at 7 p.m. in Claire Lynch Hall.

Who to Watch

Carla Meyer continues to be solid on the court for the Bennies, leading the team in points per game (13.1) and assists per game (3.0). Gabby Martin also averages just over 10 points per game and leads the team in steals per game (2.1). Szathmary still averages a team-best 7.1 rebounds per game. Olivia Boily had seven rebounds against Bethel to lead the team that game.
