ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict soccer team is looking to keep its offense going after a huge 5-0 win over Gustavus last week as the team hits the road Wednesday, Sept. 29, to take on Concordia in a 4 p.m. match up in Moorhead, Minn.
About the Cobbers
So far this season, the Cobbers are 3-6. Their last game was against Carleton on Sept. 25 and they ended with a 3-1 loss against the Knights. Junior Samantha Holmberg leads the Cobbers with five goals and first year Amber Weiybe has three goals and two assists. Sophomore goalkeeper Breanna Nelson has a 1.77 goals-against average, a .717 save percentage, and a 3-5 record.
Last Meeting
The last time these two teams met was September 17th, 2019, and CSB would score two goals per half to take a 4-0 win over the Cobbers. Megan Thompson scored three of the four goals for the Bennies and
Chloe Miller scored the fourth. Goalkeepers Kendall Koenen and
Paige Kahlmeyer split time in goal, with Kahlmeyer recording two saves.
The Storyline
CSB broke its scoring slump during their match up against Gustavus to pick up its first MIAC win of 2021. Five Bennies showed up on the scoresheet in the 5-0 win against the Gusties and all three goalkeepers were able to spend time in goal.

Erica Golenzer and Roxy Veldman each added a goal this past weekend, giving them both four goals and one assist on the season. Sydney Burns leads the team in assists with three. Goalkeeper Annie Waters has a 0.94 goals-against average, 19 saves, and a 2-1-2 record and
Paige Kahlmeyer has a 0.78 goals-against average, 17 saves, and a 1-2 record.
