CSB volleyball wraps up nonconference play at UWRF

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – After a close back and forth loss against Hamline in its MIAC opener, the College of Saint Benedict volleyball team is on the road and headed to River Falls, Wis., on Saturday, Sept. 25, to compete in the team's last non-conference matchup of the season against the UW-River Falls Falcons.
 
Match time is 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Live stats and video will be available.
 
ABOUT THE FALCONS 
River Falls is 7-8 so far this season. The Falcons' last game was against UW-Stevens Point on Sept. 22 and they lost 3-0. Katie Koerper leads the Falcons' offense with 130 kills and helping her out is Haley Cuba with 373 assists. Brooke Voight leads the defense with 261 digs.  
 
LAST MEETING 
The last meeting between these two teams was almost exactly two years ago, where CSB took the match 3-1 over the Falcons. Gabby Heying had 13 kills and Mary Wenisch had 19 digs for the Bennies in that matchup in River Falls.  
 
THE STORYLINE 
The young CSB volleyball team is looking to find their rhythm after a tough first MIAC loss to Hamline. Offensively, Heying had 14 kills and help from Payton Marker who had 29 assists. Defensively, Wenisch had 30 digs.  
 
WHO TO WATCH 
Heying continues to lead the Bennie offense with 132 total kills and Marker leads in assists with 180, with Audrey Spolidoro still trailing close behind her with 147. On the defensive side, Wenisch leads the team in digs with 148 total and Madelyn Gregory has the lead with blocks at 19.
