ABOUT THE TOMMIES
After a pair of high-scoring wins to start the spring season, the Tommies have played two scrimmages - one against St. Olaf and one against Division II Concordia-St. Paul. Paige Cater leads the Tommies and the MIAC with nine points, including four goals, and Kate Heimer has a league-best three assists.
LAST MEETING
St. Thomas has won each of the last two meetings between CSB and the Tommies in overtime. In the 2019 meeting, the lone goal of the game came in the 94th minute by UST. The teams were evenly matched as the Tommies had six shots on goal and Saint Benedict finished the game with five.
THE STORYLINE
Sunday marked another exciting game for the Bennies, who played to a 1-1, double overtime tie with Saint Mary's, but a disappointing ending in not being able to score in either overtime period. Saint Benedict looks to get its offense back on track with more shots on net and opportunities to score against a tough Tommie squad.
WHO TO WATCH:
Abby Worthington's goal one minute into Sunday's game marked the first of her four-year career with the Bennies. A handful of players have scored their first collegiate goals this season, and junior
Roxy Veldman still leads the team with two goals in the Spring 2021 season.
