NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Both
Emily Olson and
Emily Renner are in the top 30 for the College of Saint Benedict golf team after Saturday's first round of the St. Olaf/Carleton Invite.
Olson is tied for 19
th individually and Renner is tied for 28
th for the Bennies, who are in eighth as a team. CSB carded a first-round total of 371 Saturday at Willingers Golf Club in Northfield. Gustavus sits atop the team leaderboard with a 327, St. Kate's is second with a 328 and Bethel is in third with a 329.
Olson shot an 86 in Saturday's first round to finish inside the top 20. She birdied No. 2 and currently sits four strokes out of the top 10. Renner birdied both holes four and five and finished the day with an 89.
Grace Hillemeier and
Bridget Amundson round out CSB's roster for the weekend tournament and both sit in a tie for 47
th with identical 98s.
Bethel's Nicole Miller leads the team race with a 78 and Gustavus' Emily Kratz is second with a 79.
The second round is Sunday afternoon at Northfield Golf Club. CSB's tee times start around 1 p.m.
