Live Stats/Video | Game Notes

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – After picking up its first road win of the season Wednesday, the College of Saint Benedict basketball team returns to Claire Lynch Saturday to defend its home court.

For the second time in four days, CSB takes on Augsburg – this time in a MIAC matchup. Tipoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. in Claire Lynch Hall. Per MIAC policy no fans are allowed, but live stats and video are available here.

The Bennies head into Saturday afternoon's game undefeated in Claire Lynch so far this season, and look to keep that streak going in what could be their season finale.

ABOUT THE AUGGIES
Augsburg seemed intent on picking up its first win in Wednesday's fourth quarter, but came up just short. The Auggies head into Saturday 0-5 in what is the last game on their schedule. Jen Masello leads the team with 15.4 points and 8.2 rebounds per game, and is in the top four in the MIAC in both categories. She is also fourth with 2.2 steals per game.

LAST MEETING
Augsburg swept the 2019-20 season series between the two teams, and almost made a big comeback Wednesday in Minneapolis, but the Bennies held on for the 68-62 road win to push their record back above .500. Maddie Schmitz had 18 points, Carla Meyer had nine assists and Tori Szathmary finished with 13 rebounds.

THE STORYLINE
The Bennies amassed a 19-point third-quarter lead Wednesday in Minneapolis, then had to hold on for dear life as the Auggies came storming back in the fourth. CSB looks to avoid that fourth-quarter panic Saturday and play four consistent quarters to keep Augsburg at bay.

WHO TO WATCH
It was another team effort Wednesday as Maddie Schmitz led four players in double digits with 18 points. Tori Szathmary had a career-high 13 rebounds, and Carla Meyer finished with a career-best nine assists - her third game this season with eight or more assists. She also had 14 points, including four 3-pointers, and Madison Doran and Kate Seyer each scored double digits.
