About the Falcons
Last season, the Falcons ended with a 10-9 overall record in the shortened season due to the COVID-19 pandemic Emily Reimche had a team-high 15 assists to lead the Falcons last season. Goaltender Annalina Van Hercke played in 12 games total, racking up 36 saves, a goals-against average of 2.99 and a .890 save percentage. CUW started the year with an 11-0 shutout of Lawrence. Katie Rahilly had four assists and Sarah Pearson had three goals.

Last Meeting
The last time the Bennies and the Falcons met was Jan. 4, 2020, where the two teams ended in a 3-3 OT tie. Annika Brodt scored two goals and had one assist. Julia Pias scored one goal and had two assists for the Bennies. Goaltender Ally Frantzick had a total of 23 saves during the 65 minutes she spent in net. The Bennies peppered Falcon's goaltender Van Hercke with 41 total shots.

The Storyline
The CSB hockey team kicked off their regular season with a road trip to Eau Claire to take on the Blugolds. Game 1 would see late third-period goals from first years Ava Stinnett and Sami Boerboom, but ultimately the Bennies would fall 4-2 to the Blugolds. They hoped to ramp up the energy against Eau Claire the following afternoon but the Blugolds held strong and took Game 2 over CSB 5-1 with the lone Bennie goal coming from Stinnett. The team looks to get its first win of the season in front of its home crowd this weekend.

Who to Watch
Stinnett and Boerboom scored their first collegiate goals in their first game as Bennies, and Stinnett leads the team so far this season with two goals in the first two games of her college career. Sophomore Brynn Sexauer led the Bennies last season with four goals and one assists. Senior goaltender Maggie Gilchrist is back for her final season with the Bennies. Last season she boasted 143 saves with a .917 save percentage and a 2.55 GAA. Both she and Frantzick have seen time in net so far for CSB.
