ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict basketball team is back on the court after the Thanksgiving break, picking back up in MIAC play as the team takes on Saint Mary's at home Wednesday night in Claire Lynch Hall. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.

About the Cardinals
The Cardinals are off to a 2-3 start overall and are 1-1 in conference play in 2021-22. The last game the Cardinals played was a nonconference game against Luther on Nov. 28, which they lost 81-56. SMU dropped a close game in overtime to Hamline on Nov. 23. Brooklyn Paulson leads the team in scoring at 17.6 points per game, and she also averages a team-best 8.0 rebounds per game. Jada Biermeier also averages 10.2 points per game.
Last Meeting
The last time that CSB and SMU met was Jan. 20, 2020, in Claire Lynch Hall, where the Bennies won by just 10 points, with a score of 59-49.
Tori Szathmary scored six points and had two rebounds in the win as the Bennies used a big fourth quarter to pull away.
The Storyline
Saint Benedict comes back from Thanksgiving break with a 4-0 record after an extremely close win over UW-Superior and is looking to keep up the momentum after the holiday break. The Bennies have five games left in 2021, and four of those five are at home in Claire Lynch.
Who to Watch
Carla Meyer leads the Bennies in scoring at 13.5 points per game after having her career-best game against UW-Superior, scoring 18 points. She also tied her career-best with eight rebounds and is averaging 7.3 rebounds per game. Szathmary leads in rebounds and is averaging 9.3 per game, which puts her in third in the MIAC standings. Gabby Martin (12.0) and Szathmary (11.0) are also averaging double-digit points for CSB so far this season.
