SUPERIOR, Wis. – The College of Saint Benedict basketball team is off to a hot to start the season, and looks to continue its win streak as the team hits the road before Thanksgiving break. The Bennies head to Superior, Wis., to take on UW-Superior in a nonconference matchup on Tuesday night with tipoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
Per UW-Superior policy, fans are required to be masked indoors at all times.
About the Yellowjackets
The Yellowjackets have started their season off with a 1-3 record. Their last game was against St. Scholastica - which was also the Bennie's last opponent - where they picked up their first win of the season, 71-45. Kaelyn Christian leads the team with 12.0 points per game and Mady Sanders is averaging a team-best 6.3 rebounds per game.
Last Meeting
The last time the Bennies and the Yellowjackets faced off on the court was back in November 2019. The Bennies would take the close win by a score of 66-59 over the Yellowjackets. Tori Szathmary scored six points and had two rebounds in the Bennies' win.
The Storyline
The Bennies are coming off a road win and their first MIAC win of the season against St. Scholastica last Saturday. With a 3-0 start to the season, CSB is looking to keep its momentum strong and stay in the win column.
CSB's offense has been hot as the Bennies are outscoring opponents 70.6-57.3 so far this season.
Who to Watch
Tori Szathmary leads the team with an average of 13.0 points per game, and she is also tied for second in the MIAC at 10 rebounds per game. Carla Meyer is also averaging 12 points and seven rebounds per game and Gabby Martin is at 10.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.
