ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict club lacrosse team wrapped up the regular season with a 9-1 record last weekend, and is now preparing for the region tournament this coming weekend in Rochester.
CSB picked up nine wins on the season, with its only loss coming to St. Thomas last Friday. CSB picked up three forfeits, and beat UW-Oshkosh, UW-Eau Claire, UW-Milwaukee, North Dakota, Minnesota-Duluth and Bethel in the regular season. Most recently, Saint Benedict fell 15-4 to St. Thomas on the evening of April 5, but bounced back to beat Bethel 11-2 that same night to end the regular season.
The region tournament will be held Saturday and Sunday, April 13-14, at the RCTC Dome in Rochester. CSB – which earned the No. 2 seed out of eight teams at the tournament – starts its region run at 3:30 p.m. Saturday against UW-Eau Claire. CSB beat the Blugolds 13-2 earlier this season.
St. Thomas earned the No. 1 seed at the region tournament, and Iowa State, Duluth, UW-La Crosse, St. Olaf, UW-Eau Claire and Winona State round out the eight-team bracket. After the region tournament is the WCLA Division II National Tournament in Virginia Beach, Va.
