ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict soccer team gets back to MIAC action this weekend after a Sunday afternoon loss to UW-Eau Claire. CSB hosts St. Olaf in a conference matchup at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at the CSB soccer field.
About the Oles
St. Olaf is off to a solid start with a 3-2-1 record and 1-1-0 in the MIAC. The Oles have outscored opponents 9-6 this season, with seven different players scoring. Mackenzie Schoustra leads the team with three goals and three assists, and Brynne Davis has been solid in net, with a .829 save percentage in six games played.
Last Meeting
Saint Benedict lost 1-0 at St. Olaf when the two teams met last season in Northfield. Claire Bash scored the lone goal of the game in the 81st minute of the Oles shutout of CSB.
Kendall Koenen made five saves, but the Oles held a 6-1 edge in shots on net over CSB.
The Storyline
CSB is coming off back to back loses last weekend, losing at #16 St. Thomas 2-1 in double overtime and at home 2-0 to UW-Eau Claire. Saint Benedict looks to get back in the win column against the Oles after five days off. After St. Olaf, CSB continues the conference season at Augsburg on Wednesday night.
