VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Friday night, the College of Saint Benedict soccer team came up against the 24
th-ranked team in the country and hung tough in a one-goal loss. Saturday night, CSB ran into an even tougher team in No. 17 Christopher Newport, and suffered a second loss to an East Coast foe.
Christopher Newport shut down Saint Benedict's offense and handed CSB a 6-0 loss Saturday night in Virginia Beach. CSB is 0-2 as it heads back to St. Joseph to open its home season next weekend.
CNU scored five of its six goals in the first 26 minutes of the game, including a pair in the 10
th minute.

Kayli Thulin played 61 minutes and stopped six of the seven shots she faced.
Megan Thompson put two shots on net for Saint Benedict – the team's only two shots of the night. CNU had 20 shots, including 13 on goal.
CSB flies back to Minnesota Sunday afternoon, and returns to action Saturday, Sept. 8, when it hosts Wartburg at 1 p.m. at the team's new turf field.
