ST.JOSEPH, Minn. - For the first time in seven years, the College of Saint Benedict basketball team is in the DIII Top 25, polling at No. 24 in the latest d3hoops.com poll. Last week, the team beat both Concordia and St. Olaf. CSB looks to add a fifth win to its streak as it travels back to Northfield, Minn. on Wednesday, Feb. 7, to face the Carleton Knights at 7 p.m.

About Carleton
The Knights are 7-14 overall and 4-10 in MIAC play. Their last home game was a hard-fought battle against Macalester, which they ultimately lost 67-59 in overtime. Last season, they went 8-17 overall, and 6-12 in the conference. They have yet to face Saint Benedict this season. Sophomore Katie Chaves leads her team with 246 points and an average of 14.5 points per game. Her fellow sophomore Samantha Cooke averages 10.8 points per game. Cece Leone and Sarah Waldfogel are both top scorers, with 10.7 point averages and 225 points each.

Last Year
Saint Benedict has yet to face the Knights this year. Game 1 of last season went to CSB in a massive 88-52 victory. The second time, however, the Knights came out on top. The tight match ended in a 59-57 loss for Saint Benedict.
Niki Fokken had seven points and
Chelsey Guetter finished with eight rebounds for CSB, which is 3-2 against the Knights since 2014-15. Cece Leone led Carleton with 15 points.

Saint Benedict's seniors continue to be the frontrunners of the team.
Niki Fokken has 258 points and a 12.9 points per game average. Next is fellow senior
Chelsey Guetter with 212 points, averaging 10.1 per game. Sophomore
Sidney Schiffler leads not only her team but the MIAC with a 3-point percentage of 47.7, she has also scored 48 points.
Kate Banovetz and
Megan Thompson have contributed 131 and 113 points, respectively.

The Storyline
No. 24 Saint Benedict is coming off two 20-plus point wins last week. A win today would mark the 20
th of the season for CSB, which is 19-2 overall. CSB hasn't reached 20 wins since 2012-13. Last Saturday, the team traveled to St. Olaf to bring home a 58-33 victory. They outscored the Oles in every quarter, racking up 10 three-point shots in the process. First-year
Megan Thompson was the high scorer with 13 points. With a 13-1 conference record, CSB is currently ranked second in the MIAC. CSB returns home to Claire Lynch Hall on Saturday to celebrate the seniors and tip off against Augsburg University (11-9 overall, 7-7 conference) at 3 p.m.
