ST.JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict volleyball team heads to St. Paul this week for its second MIAC match of the season. St. Thomas hosts CSB volleyball at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20.
About St. Thomas
St. Thomas participated in the UW- River Falls Invite this past weekend, coming out with a 3-1 record to bring the team to 11-2 for the current season. The 21
st-ranked Tommies finished 22-9 overall and 9-2 in MIAC play last season. The Tommies are led by senior Whitney Lloyd with 114 kills, junior Katharine Mallak with 245 assists, and sophomore Ellie Meyer with 248 digs.

CSB fell 3-1 to St. Thomas last year at home in St. Joseph. Leading Saint Benedict were
Liz Schultz with 13 kills,
Megan Pekarek with 38 assists, and
Haley LaValle with 35 digs.
Who to Watch
CSB's offense is headed by junior outside
Liz Schultz, who currently has 96 kills and 15 service aces. First year right side
Hunter Weiss follows with 92 kills, and CSB Athlete of the Week
Madison Weiss has 54 kills and leads the team in total blocks (34). MIAC Athlete of the Week
Megan Pekarek sets up her team well with 311 assists and 36 kills. Sophomore defensive specialist
Haley LaValle tops the team with 143 digs.
The Storyline
After going 3-1 in the UW-River Falls Invite this past weekend, CSB has an overall record of 5-5 and a 1-0 MIAC record. Saint Benedict looks to increase its conference record to 2-0 on Wednesday. CSB has been on the road all season, with the first home game against Hamline University on Sept. 22.
