ST. JOSEPH, Minn. –The College of Saint Benedict hockey team wraps up the 2016-17 season this Friday and Saturday, Feb. 17-18, when it takes on Augsburg College in a pair of MIAC games. The two teams play at 7 p.m. Friday in Minneapolis and 3 p.m. Saturday in St. Cloud.
About Augsburg
Augsburg is 16-7 overall and 12-4 and in second in the MIAC heading into this weekend. The Auggies are coming into this game ranked No. 10 in all D-3 after splitting games last weekend against St. Thomas. Callen Naasz leads the team with nine goals and nine assists. Darby Lindgren and Bridget Wagner both have 14 points this season. Rebecca Sonnek leads the Auggies in net. She is fourth in the MIAC with 417 saves, second with a 1.32 goals-against average, and first with a .943 save percentage in 21 appearances.
Last Year
CSB played the Auggies twice last season. On Feb. 19 in St. Cloud, the two teams tied 3-3 in overtime. In Minneapolis on Feb. 20, CSB lost 3-2 in overtime. In the series,
Hannah Esselman had three assists,
Kylie Eklund had two goals, and
Allison Kirk had two points for the Blazers.
Angel Hillstrom and
Dory Johnson made 65 saves for CSB in the series.

Elli Marvin is first in the MIAC with 26 points and third in goals with 14.
Brigette Miller has eight assists and eight goals, and
Mollie Wise also has eight goals.
Julia Carle is second in the league with 501 saves this season, and fifth in the MIAC with a .924 save percentage in 17 games played.
The Storyline
CSB comes into the weekend after recording its fifth MIAC point of the year last weekend with a tie at Saint Mary's. The Auggies are second in the MIAC and have a chance at winning the conference regular season, and Saint Benedict is looking to pick up some wins to finish the season on a positive note. This marks CSB's final two games of the season, and the final games for the team's eight seniors: Marvin, Kirk, Esselman,
