ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – After picking up a 2-0 victory at Bethel last Saturday, the College of Saint Benedict soccer team looks to add another notch in the 'W' column Friday when it hosts Saint Mary's University. The two teams play at 3:30 p.m. at the CSB Soccer Field in St. Joseph, Minn., in a MIAC contest.
About the Cardinals
Saint Mary's is 5-6 overall and 0-5 in the MIAC and is coming off a 3-1 loss at St. Kate's – the team's third straight loss. Becca Dup is first in the MIAC with six assists and fourth with 16 points. Mary Loy is second in the MIAC with four assists and has five goals. Thirteen Cardinals have scored a goal this season. Zoe Boleneus and Gabriella Pederson have split time in goal and have combined for 65 saves and a 1.34 goals-against average.
Last Year
CSB beat the Cardinals 4-1 last year on Sept. 17 in Winona. CSB got out to a quick thre- goal first half lead. Becca Dup opened up the second half with a goal for the Cardinals, but
Nicole Newman answered back with a goal of her own for CSB. Saint Benedict held a 17-9 edge in total shots, including a 9-6 margin in shots on goal.

First year
Megan Thompson leads CSB with six goals and 13 points on 33 shots. Junior
Jane Koch is second in the MIAC with four assists and third with 35 shots. In net,
Kendall Koenen is third in the league with 45 total saves. She is 6-2-1 with three shutouts and a .818 save percentage.
The Storyline
The MIAC is wide open this year, so every game is a big game for CSB. After winning Saturday, and a few days off, the team looks to stay on track with a win Friday against Saint Mary's. After Friday's game, CSB is back on the road for two MIAC games next week at St. Catherine and Gustavus.
