ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict basketball team continues the MIAC season this Saturday, Jan. 21, when it travels to Carleton College in Northfield. Game time is set for 1 p.m. as CSB battles to stay in third place in the MIAC standings.

About Carleton
Carleton is 4-12 overall and 2-7 in the MIAC heading into Saturday's game. The Knights' latest game was a 67-58 win against St. Olaf Wednesday night. Cece Leone leads the knights with 11.3 points per game. Sarah Waldfogel has a team-high 5.6 rebounds per game and is second in the league with an 82.6 free-throw percentage this year. Carleton is coming off a 2015-16 season where it went 4-21 overall and 1-17 in the MIAC.

Last Season
CSB and Carleton faced off once last season, and the Blazers won the conference matchup 88-52, led by a career-high 25 points from Niki Fokken. Last season, Saint Benedict won 65-50 on Dec. 2 in St. Joseph. The Blazers got out to an early lead, and led 32-14 at halftime. Annie Dittberner led the team with 10 points and five assists and Fokken had eight points and nine rebounds in the Blazers' win.

About CSB
Chelsey Guetter leads the team with 10.6 points and 7.7 rebounds per game and Fokken averages 9.6 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per game. Fokken is second in the MIAC with 28 blocks this season.

The Storyline
CSB is undefeated at home this season, but has struggled on the road going 2-5 this season. CSB, which got off to a hot start to the 2016-17 season, also looks to stay near the top of the conference and knock the Knights down a column in the MIAC standings. Bethel and CSB are currently in a tie for third place in league standings. Looking ahead, CSB will be back on the road for another conference game Wednesday, Jan. 28, when it travels to St. Catherine University at 7 p.m.
