CSB soccer hosts Carleton Saturday

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict soccer team is at home again Saturday, Sept. 24, when it hosts Carleton in a MIAC matchup. The game starts at 1 p.m. on the CSB soccer field.

About the Knights
The Knights head into Saturday's game 0-6-2 overall, and 0-1-1 in MIAC play. Carleton has been held scoreless in five games so far this season. The Knights have scored four goals on the year, all from different players. On defense, the Knights are giving up 2.49 goals per game.

Last Year
CSB defeated Carleton 3-1 on Sept. 26 in Northfield last season. The Knights scored 11th minute, but CSB rallied to score three straight on goals from three different athletes. CSB had seven shots on net to the Knights' four.

Who to Watch
Senior forward Taylor Hedin has been a big part of CSB's offense so far this season. She has 14 points, and leads the team along with Jane Koch with five goals. The Blazers allow 0.97 goals against per game, and Heather Kaluzniak has 37 saves in eight starts in goal.

The Storyline
In stormy conditions on Wednesday the Blazers tied a good St. Thomas team, and look to stay undefeated in MIAC play with a win Saturday against Carleton. CSB is off to a solid start at 5-1-2 overall and 1-0-1 in the MIAC so far this season, and Saint Benedict looks to keep that going as it heads farther into MIAC play. CSB is also undefeated at home so far this season, including an overtime win early in the year, and looks to protect its home field.
