RIVER FALLS, Wis. –
Taylor Hedin scored a pair of goals to lift the College of Saint Benedict soccer team to a 3-0 win over UW-River Falls Sunday afternoon. The win – which marked the second shutout of the year for CSB – also marked the end of nonconference play for Saint Benedict.
Heather Kaluzniak made three saves in the first half to keep River Falls (0-5-1) off the board, but the Falcons' goalie also stopped three CSB shots to keep the game at a scoreless tie heading into halftime. Hedin scored her first goal of the game – the eventual game-winner – in the 72
nd minute off an assist from
Jane Koch.

Rebecca Murphy scored the first goal of her collegiate career in the 83
rd minute off an assist from
Olivia Musser to make it 2-0, and Hedin added another goal – her fifth of the season – six minutes later in the 89
th minute off an assist from
Brianna Griffin.

Kendall Koenen made six saves in the second half to preserve the shutout and earn the second win of her CSB career.
Saint Benedict (5-1-1) outshot River Falls 17-14, but the Falcons held a 9-7 edge in shots on net.
CSB returns home for the first time in two weeks Wednesday, Sept. 21, when it hosts St. Thomas at 4 p.m.
