ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – After losing to No. 18 Wartburg College last weekend, the College of Saint Benedict soccer team is ready to start the MIAC season on the road this weekend and then head off to a non-conference day. CSB starts with a trip to Winona this Saturday and River Falls, Wis., on Sunday, Sept. 17-18, for games against Saint Mary's and UW-River Falls.
The Schedule
CSB, which is 3-1-1 thus far in the season, starts the weekend Saturday in Winona, Minn., for a 1 p.m. game against Saint Mary's. Sunday, Saint Benedict heads to River Falls, Wis., for a 2 p.m. contest against UW-River Falls.
About the Opponents
The Cardinals are 1-2-1 on the season, and are coming off a 3-0 MIAC loss at Augsburg on Tuesday. Saint Mary's lost 5-0 last season in St. Joseph against the Blazers, and finished the season 6-12 and 3-8 in the MIAC.
The Falcons of the WIAC are 0-4-1 this season, and have only faced MIAC competition this season. River Falls last faced the Blazers in 2011, and lost 2-1 in St. Joseph. Last year the Falcons finished the season with a record of 9-8-2, and are off to a slow start this season.

Cecilia Lovinger scored the first goal of her college career in the team's 3-2 win over UW-Oshkosh.
Olivia Musser and Hedin both have two assists.

The Storyline
CSB has gotten off to a great start this season, and looks to stay on pace this weekend. The team's trip southwest looks encouraging, and CSB looks to start MIAC play on a high note to gain momentum with a tough conference schedule coming up in the next few weeks.
