MEQUON, Wis. – The College of Saint Benedict hockey team started its two-game Wisconsin road trip with a 5-1 loss to Concordia-Wisconsin Friday night in Mequon, Wis.
The Falcons (4-4-2) scored three first-period goals and added two more in the third period to seal the win, and Concordia's Brandi Muller had a hat trick.
Concordia got on the board in the seventh minute with an even-strength goal, then scored on the power play in the 10
th minute. The Falcons made it 3-0 with just over two minutes left in the first on another even-strength goal in the 17
th minute of the game.
Elli Marvin scored CSB's lone goal, her ninth of the season, at the 17:54 mark of the second period to make it 3-1.
Stephanie Kirk recorded her sixth assist of the season to get Saint Benedict on the board.
Concordia added two more unanswered goals in the third, however, both by Muller. She scored in the third minute and then the seventh minute on the power play to end the scoring for the game.
CSB had 29 shots on net to Concordia's 30. Marvin finished with eight shots on net and
Brigette Miller added seven. Julie Carle made 25 saves for CSB to bring her season total up to 180.
Saint Benedict and Concordia play again Saturday at 3 p.m. to mark CSB's last game of 2016.
