ST. PAUL, Minn. – In its first dual meet of the season, the College of Saint Benedict swimming and diving team recorded 13 top-three finishes and plenty of personal bests Saturday against St. Thomas. The Tommies beat CSB 183-58 in a meet held in St. Paul, Minn.
Leading the way for CSB was first year
Allyson Lidtke, who recorded a pair of runner-up finishes. She took second in the 50 free in 25.62 seconds and second in the 100 freestyle in 56.81 seconds. CSB placed four in the top five in the 100, as
Meghan Kratz took third (56.94),
Katie Heller fourth (57.61) and
Meghan Harder fifth (57.67). Harder also dropped a full second off her lifetime best to take fourth in the 50 in 25.88 seconds and Heller finished fifth in 26.01 seconds.
First year diver
Mallory Jarvi added her name to CSB's top-10 list in the one-meter dive Saturday. Her score of 207.15 was good for third and is seventh-best in CSB history. She also took fifth in the three-meter competition with a mark of 171.37.
Skyler Clough finished third in both the 100 butterfly and 200 IM. She finished the 100 fly in 1:05.29 and the IM in 2:22.01.
Ashley Groebner took fourth in the 200 IM in 2:22.16. Groebner also took third in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.74) and
Kayla Albers was fifth (1:14.14).
Morgan Murphy had a pair of top-four finishes. She took third in the 1,000 in 11:34.29 and fourth in the 500 in 5:35.81.
Amy Nemanich finished fourth in the 1,000 in 11:37.58.
Meghan Kratz finished second in the 200 in 2:06.06, and
Allison Crum took third (2:06.59) and Kassandra Chronakkos took fourth (2:07.75).
Lauren Christiansen finished fifth in the 100 backstroke in 1:04.37.
Sydney Weires, Groebner, Heller and Lidtke teamed up to take third in the 200 medley relay in 1:55.61 and
Emma Ridgeway, Albers,
Larissa Kleen and Harder were fourth in 1:57.36. Heller, Lidtke, Kratz and Harder took third in the 200 freestyle relay (1:43.19) and Kleen Weires,
Kaylee O'Connell and Ridgeway took fourth in 1:47.15.
Saint Benedict is off now until Dec. 2-3 when it travels to Minneapolis for the Jean Freeman Invite, which features Division I, II and III competition.
