2016-17: Swam a career-best 50 free (25.71) at the Minnesota Challenge ... competed in nine meets as a senior ... recorded 12 top-10 finishes.
2015-16: Competed in four meets as a junior ... recorded four top-10 finishes.
2014-15: Qualified for the MIAC Championships in the 100 and 200 breaststroke and 200 IM ... took 20th in the 100 breaststroke, 22nd in the 200 breaststroke and 23rd in the 200 IM ... swam career-bests in the 100 breaststroke (1:13.25), 200 breaststroke (2:38.76) and 200 IM (2:24.38) ... recorded eight top-10 finishes ... took second in the 100 breaststroke at the St. Thomas dual Jan. 10.
2013-14: First season ... swam career-bests in the 50 and 100 freestyle, 100 back and 50 breaststroke ... took third in the 100 back at the St. Cloud State dual on Jan. 17 ... finished the year with nine top-10 finishes.
High School: A 2013 graduate of Eden Prairie High School, O'Connell was part of the swimming and diving team for four years, and was named team captain. Her team won the section title by a single point her sophomore season.
Personal: O'Connell is the daughter of Terry and Michael O'Connell of Eden Prairie, Minn. She has a brother, Paul, and a sister, Luxmi. She enjoys traveling, gardening and long boarding and is majoring in social science with a minor in secondary education.
