ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and campus rec department are sponsoring the third annual Zumbathon in February.
The event, which serves as a fundraiser for the local Special Olympics, is from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, and will be held in Alumnae Hall in the Haehn Campus Center on the CSB campus.
Zumbathon is led by CSB aerobics instructors. Prizes are awarded throughout the evening, which ends with the crowning of a Zumba king and queen. Heathy snacks and drinks are available thanks to Health Advocates, and usually include yogurt, bananas and granola bars.
CSB students participate in the 2015 Zumbathon in Alumnae Hall. Preregistration runs Feb. 8-12 at the CSB Camus Rec Desk, but participants can also register the night of the event. The cost of Zumbathon is a $5 donation that goes directly to Special Olympics. Participants are invited to stay for the whole two hours, but can also come and go as their schedule allows.
Last year, Zumbathon raised nearly $600 for the local Special Olympics.
