OSHKOSH, Wis. – The College of Saint Benedict soccer team wrapped up its two-game Wisconsin road trip with a shutout victory over UW-Oshkosh Sunday afternoon. The Blazers improved to 2-0-1 overall with a 2-0 victory against the Titans.
Jenna Kleason started the scoring for CSB in the 12
th minute when she took a pass from senior
Nicole Bauer after a corner kick. Kleason took the pass in the air from three yards out and sent a header past Oshkosh goalie Nina Muzi and into the back of the net.
Saint Benedict held that one-goal lead the remainder of the first half and well into the second until
Aly Hoffman scored her third goal of the season to put the Blazers up 2-0. Hoffman, who scored twice in CSB's season-opening win against Morris, took a pass from
Miranda Mosher and scored from 30 yards out in the center of the field.
CSB finished with eight shots to Oshkosh's nine. The Titans had two shots on goal and the Blazers finished with five shots on goal. Junior goalie
Heather Kaluzniak stopped both shots to earn her second shutout of the season.
The Blazers are off now until next Saturday, Sept. 12, when they travel to Dubuque, Iowa, to take on Loras College. The Duhawks lost 5-1 to Oshkosh to start the season.
