CSB/St. Thomas ResultsSARTELL, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict tennis team hosted its second home match in as many days Sunday afternoon when it played St. Thomas in a MIAC matchup at Fitness Evolution in Sartell. The Tommies maintained their perfect record, defeating the Blazers 8-1.
Juniors
Daley Rupar and
Rachel Raden picked up the Blazers' lone win of the afternoon at No. 2 doubles. The duo beat Jenna Czarnecki and Shelby Henderson 8-4.
Laura Finn and
Victoria Beach lost 8-5 at No. 1 singles, and
Cassy Finn and
Taylor Kraemer fell 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.
St. Thomas (8-0, 2-0 MIAC) swept the singles competition.
Laura Finn forced a tiebreaker at No. 2 singles for the Blazers, but fell 7-5, 2-6, 10-6. Rupar lost 6-1, 6-3 to Henderson at No. 1 singles, and Beach fell 6-3, 6-2 to Caitlin Bakke at No. 3 singles.
Taylor Kraemer lost 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 singles,
Cassy Finn fell 6-3, 6-0 to Jenna Zimmerman at No. 5 singles and Raden lost 6-2, 6-2 to Czarnecki at No. 6 singles.
Saint Benedict, which is 2-8 overall and 0-2 in the MIAC, returns to action and plays at home again Saturday, March 21, when it hosts Northwestern (Minn.) at 10 a.m. at Fitness Evolution in Sartell.
