JOSEPH, Minn. – After falling to St Kate's by a score of 3-2, the College of Saint Benedict volleyball is looking to bounce back and gain another conference win in its matchup against Hamline Wednesday, Oct. 14. The Blazers will be facing off against the Pipers at 7 p.m. in St. Paul.
About the Pipers: The Pipers currently sit with a record of 9-10 and have gone 2-4 in conference play this season. After starting the season 7-5, the Pipers have suffered five losses in the past seven games. They will be heading into their match against the Blazers after taking a 3-0 win over Macalester. This win came after four consecutive conference losses, and the Pipers will look to build up momentum as they head into the final stretch of their season.
Last Year: Last season, the Blazers took a 3-0 home win over Hamline. After starting the night with a 25-12 win in the first set, the Blazers came back strong in the second set to take a 25-13 win. They finished the night with a 25-17 win to take their fifth consecutive win before heading into the postseason.

The Storyline: The Blazers started the season with a 5-0 conference record, and have gone 0-2 in conference play since then. They will be coming into this match with hopes of rebuilding their momentum as they head into their final seven matches of the regular season. After this matchup, the Blazers will head into the Eau Claire Tournament for a two-game break from conference play. This will give the Blazers four remaining conference games to continue their climb to the top of the MIAC.

Last Time Out: In their last match, the Blazers fell in one of their closest matches of the season. After falling in the first two sets by scores of 25-19 and 25-21, the Blazers came back strong to take a 25-14 win in the third set. From here, the Blazers took a 25-15 win in the next set to force the fifth and final set. In this set, each team battled back and forth until the score was tied at 13-13. St. Kate's finished with the last two points of the set and took the 3-2 win. Schmitt finished the night with 18 kills and Pekarek helped lead the Blazers with 41 assists.
