Box ScoreEAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The College of Saint Benedict picked up its second straight win in shutout fashion Saturday afternoon, defeating the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire 3-0 at Bollinger Field in Eau Claire, Wis.

The Blazers (2-1) took control of the game early when Alyssa Hoffman scored the first goal of contest off an assist from
Gracie Vaughan in the 11
th minute. St. Ben's added another goal to the scoreboard less than 20 minutes later when Hoffman scored again, this time off an assist from
Peggy Renier in the 28
th minute of play.

Saint Benedict led 2-0 at halftime, and added a third goal to seal the win in the 80
th minute. Vaughan scored her first goal of the season off an assist from Hoffman to put the Blazers up 3-0 with less than 10 minutes left to play.

Megan Favorite and
Heather Kaluzniak split time in goal to preserve the shutout for St. Ben's. The duo stopped both shots they faced.

The Blazers outshot Eau Claire (0-2-1) 10-8, including a 6-2 margin in shots on goal. Hoffman had three shots on goal for St. Ben's.

Saint Benedict is back in action against another WIAC opponent Sunday, Sept. 7, when it takes on the University of Wisconsin-Stout at 1 p.m. in Menomonie, Wis.
