Box ScoreST. PAUL, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict volleyball team headed to St. Paul Wednesday afternoon looking to end St. Thomas' 10-game winning streak.
The Blazers got off to a good start, but fell short in their effort. After winning the first set 25-22, Saint Benedict lost 25-16, 25-19 and 25-20 to the Tommies.
The loss marks the second MIAC loss of the year for CSB, which is now 12-7 overall and 4-2 in the conference. St. Thomas improves to 15-4 overall and 5-0 in the MIAC.
Lexi Rinde led the Blazer offense with 13 kills Wednesday night.
Laura Schmitt and
Bailey Rykken each added 10 kills for CSB, which had 53 total kills to the Tommies' 57.
Taya Kockelman finished with 41 assists. Schmitt also led the Blazer defense with 17 digs.
Gabi Narvaez added 12 digs and
Victoria Nass chipped in with 11.
Jill Greenfield led all hitters with 17 kills for St. Thomas. Kelly Foley finished with 12 kills and Taylor Lewis had 10. Kayla Walton had a team-high 25 assists and Whitney Abrahamson finished with a game-high 24 digs.
The Blazers are off now until Wednesday, Oct. 15, when they host Bethel at 7 p.m. for their annual Dig Pink match.
