Blazers try to bounce back

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – Less than 24 hours after suffering just its second loss of the season, the College of Saint Benedict soccer team is back at it Sunday when it hosts UW-Oshkosh in its final nonconference game of 2014. The Blazers are looking for a win to rebound and springboard into the second half of their season.

Who to Watch:
CSB:
Sr., GK Megan Favorite and So., GK, Heather Kaluzniak: Together combine for a .920 save percentage and 46 saves in 11 games. The duo have eight shutouts.
Jr., F, Aly Hoffman leads the team in points (12) and assists (4) and is tied for first in goals (4) and shots (21).
Jr., F, Gracie Vaughn also has four goals, and is second on the team with 10 points.
Oshkosh:
So., F, Rachel Elliott leads the team with five goals and 12 points. She has two game-winning goals to her name
So., M, Robyn Elliott is second with three goals, including one game-winner
Jr., GK, Nina Muzi has played the bulk of the minutes in goal for the Titans, and has a .902 save percentage with just five goals against in 10 games played.
 
About the Titans: Oshkosh enters today's game on a three-game winning streak after shutting out UW-Superior 4-0 Saturday afternoon in Superior, Wis. Each of the Titans' last three wins have been by shutout, including a 5-0 victory against St. Norbert. Rachel and Robyn Elliott lead the team with five and three goals, respectively, and in goal Angela Christensen and Nina Muzi combined for a .911 save percentage.
 
Last Meeting: The Blazers and Titans haven't met for exactly six years, Oct. 5, 2008, when CSB shut out the Titans 1-0 in St. Joseph, Minn. Saint Ben's gave up just two shots on goal in that game six years ago.
 
The Storyline: The Blazers enter today's game looking to get back on track after their first MIAC loss of the season. CSB needs a win to give it a boost heading into the heart of its conference schedule. The No. 13 Blazers are also looking to stay in the top 15 in the NCAA Division III.
 
Last Time Out:
CSB:
The Blazers lost 2-0 to Carleton College Saturday in Northfield, Minn. The Knights outshot CSB 12-1.
Oshkosh:
The Titans beat UW-Superior 4-0 in Superior, Wis., to push their current win streak to three games.
