After being upset in a big loss last Saturday, the Blazers have had a week to wallow in the loss. A well-played win against Saint Mary's will help them forget about the loss and start to bare down on the home stretch of their season. After tomorrow they have three more game, including an always-important season finale against Concordia-Moorhead.
About the Cardinals:
The Cardinals went 5-2 in their nonconference season, including a 7-0 victory over Wis.-Superior. They fell upon difficulty in their conference schedule however. They are winless in the conference, but have found a bright spot in first-year forward Emily Loof, who is one goal out of the conference lead for goals scored. Four of their conference losses have been decided by just one goal.
Last Year:
The Cardinals gave the Blazers a run-for-their-money in 2013, with the Blazers winning by just one goal. The Blazers scored back-to-back goals in the 23rd and 24th minute from sophomore forward Taylor Hedin and junior forward Val Clintsman to put themselves up 2-0 in the first half. The Cardinals got a quick goal from Bethany Schmidt in the second half, but were not able to complete the comeback.
Last Time Out:

SMU:
