Minneapolis – The Saint Benedict hockey team saw its three-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday (Dec. 7), as Augsburg scored a 4-0 victory.
 
All three of the Blazers' wins came at home, before hitting the road today for just the second time all season. The Auggies scored twice in each the first and second periods, also handing the Blazers' their second shutout of the year.
 
The Blazers nearly made it out of the first period still tied too, but the Auggies tacked on their two goals with under five minutes left to play. The Blazers actually outshot the Auggies in the first, a trend that would continue throughout the game
 
After taking the edge in shots over Augsburg in the 4-1 win yesterday, the Blazers took a 32-to-23 advantage tonight.
 
The Auggies added two goals on just six shots in the second, before the Blazers put the pressure on with a 13 shots in an eventually scoreless third.
 
The Blazers fall to 3-6-0 on the year with a 1-5-0 mark in the MIAC, while Augsburg improves to 3-5-0 and 2-4-0 in the conference.
 
They next play in nonconference action, Jan. 3 and 4, playing at Concordia (Wis.).
