GOOD TO BE HOME: The Blazers get to stay home as they continue to open the second half of the season. Today, they host St. Catherine at 3 p.m. in Claire Lynch Hall. The Wildcats enter with a 1-8 overall mark, and a 0-6 record in the MIAC, while the Blazers counter with a 7-3 tally on the year and a 5-2 record in league play.
ABOUT ST. CATHERINE: The Wildcats lone win came as a 58-55 victory over Stephens College in the second game of the season. They dropped a 74-48 decision to Augsburg in their return to MIAC play on Wednesday. Still winless in the MIAC, the Wildcats closest game was a 50-45 loss to Macalester, while the other five have all been by double-digits. Against Saint Mary's, they scored just 22 points in a 40-22 loss. They're making just 34.4% percent of their field goals on the season, ranking 10th in the league. Conversely, on defense, they're giving up a 39.9% mark to their opponents, 11th best in the MIAC. The Wildcats went winless in conference play last season, and were again picked for a 12th place finish in 2012-13.
LAST SEASON: The Blazers swept the Wildcats last season, winning 90-63 in St. Joseph, Minn. in early December, and were equally as dominant with an 83-59 win in St. Paul in late January. In the first meeting, the Blazers hit over 50% of their shots from the floor and had four players in double figures. To complete the sweep, the Blazers held the Wildcats to just 25% shooting in the first half and took a 14-point lead into the break on their way to the win.
THE STORYLINE: The Blazers are looking to win their third straight game for the first time all season. Going back to mid-December, they are currently on a two-game winning streak with wins over Augsburg and Bethel. Three times now, the Blazers have won back-to-back games, with the previous two streaks stopped by losses to UW-River Falls and Saint Mary's respectively.
LAST TIME OUT: The Blazers led wire-to-wire on Wednesday night to take a 65-57 win over Bethel. CSB opened up their lead to as much as 13 in the first half, before the Royals put a run together to get within two in the second. The Blazers responded to go back up by double digits and led by eight the rest of the way. Juniors

Tish Alexander with 14, led the team to their fourth highest scoring game of the season.
HEAD COACH MIKE DURBIN: Returning for his 27th season, Durbin won his 575th career game in the season opener over Colorado College. One of the winningiest coaches in the game today, he entered the season with the 10th best winning percentage among active coaches, while ranking ninth in career wins.
