St. Joseph, Minn. – The Saint Benedict volleyball came out hard today (Sept. 29) beating MIAC rival Saint Mary's, 3-0.
The sweep was the second in a row for the Blazers, and fourth in their last five games.
“To go 3-0 twice in a row in the same week is a big deal and really gets us ready for tomorrow,” head coach
Nicole Hess said after the win.
The first started out even and stayed that way for most of the set, until the Blazers (14-4, 3-1 MIAC) pulled ahead to a 15-9 lead and finished off winning 25-19. In the second set, the Cardinals (7-6, 2-2 MIAC) took a 5-2 lead early on, but the Blazers went on a 7-2 run late and pulled ahead to win 25-20. The Blazers then took a 9-3 lead early in the third, stayed out in front and took the final set - and the match- winning 25-18.

After winning the first two of their three consecutive home games, the Blazers look to take their third straight home win against St. Olaf at 3:00 p.m. “It's nice to not have to travel and be able to sleep in our own beds,” said Coach Hess.
The Blazers game tomorrow is the first of only three remaining home games left in the season.
