Last time out:
Last weekend the Blazers opened with a tie against UW-Eau Claire, 1-1, before suffering a 2-1 loss to UW-Stout. The Blazers gave up the first goal in each match, but came right back to tie it up in each match as well. Alyssa Hoffman scored her first career goal as the Blazers tied the Blugolds, and
Megan Favorite posted a career high 11 saves to preserve the tie. Against UW-Stout,
Natalia Kruse also scored her first career goal, evening the score, but the Blue Devils came back for the game-winner late in the second, despite being outshot by the Blazers.
Macalester swept their way through last week, blowing out a pair of opponents. They nearly hung a half-dozen on Nebraska Wesleyan in a 5-0 shutout win, and a day later backed it up with a 4-1 win over Luther. Georgia Cloepfil notched a hat trick against Nebraska Wesleyan, while Bonnie Gale did the same against Luther.
Last Season:
The Blazers went without a win against the Scots in 2011, but did enough to advance when it really counted. In the first round of the MIAC Tournament, the two teams played to a scoreless draw after all 110 minutes, but the Blazers did just enough in the shootout to win 2-0 and advance to the championship game. The second meeting made up for a 1-0 home loss for the CSB in the teams regular season meeting.
