RESULTS
The Blazers hosted their first home match of the season on Thursday April 12
th at 4 p.m. Despite playing strong and competitively, Saint Benedict fell short losing to Minnesota State University Mankato by a score of 4-5.
Blazer doubles teams continued their streak of seamless playing, winning three out of the four matches.
Megan Seipel (New London, MN, New London-Spicer) and
Lauren Jones (Ogden, UT, Saint Joseph Catholic), two doubles, played an outstanding match, defeating their opponent 8-3.
MacKenzie Rayman (Burnsville, MN, Apple Valley) and
Cheyenne Raforth (Rapid City, SD, St. Thomas More) played at four doubles and completed an impressive match with a score of 8-2.
Blazer singles fought a hard battle.
Sarah Rossman (Rochester, MN, Lourdes) played a near perfect match and defeated her Mankato opponent 6-0, 6-1.
Taylor Reiner (Darwin, MN, Hutchinson) neared perfection as well when she too finished with a score of 6-0, 6-1.
The match was tied 4-4, leaving the determining point in the hands of three doubles.
Taylor Reiner and
Alicia Vargas fell short, losing by a score 8-1.
The Blazers played well but look forward to their next match that takes place tomorrow, Thursday April 13
th, at 4 p.m. versus MIAC rival Concordia College on the Blazers home courts.
