St. Cloud, Minn. – The Saint Benedict hockey team returns to action this weekend with a home-and-home series with St. Catherine University.
The Blazers enter the series after a 4-0 win over Augsburg on November 17. St. Catherine currently sits at the top of the MIAC standings with a 4-0 conference record. Their four wins have come from sweeps over winless Augsburg, and 2-2 Saint Mary's.
The Wildcats are led by sophomore forwards Bailey Rasmussen and Megan Kilmer. Each has earned four points this season in five games. Rasmussen leads St. Catherine with three goals while Kilmer leads the team in assists with three. The Wildcats have four players with three points so far this season.
St. Catherine has split time between two goaltenders this season, each putting up save percentages above 93%.
Saint Benedict is led on offense by sophomores
Megan Brettingen and
Alli O'Brien. Brettingen and O'Brien each have four points for the Blazers. O'Brien has two goals and two assists in just four games while Brettingen has four goals in seven games. The strong Blazer offense has five players with three points this season. They are seniors

Catherine Pollock, junior
Christine Brodersen, sophomore
Tara Frey and first-year
Megan Lawry. Together they are a combined +16.
Sophomore goaltender
Jenna Traut has put up impressive numbers in her three starts. She has let in just two goals while averaging less than one goal per game. Traut has a .978 save percentage.
The Blazers begin the series at 7 p.m. on Nov. 30, in St. Paul, Minn. and finish the series at home at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
