BOX SCORE
The Blazers (3-8-2 overall, 1-2-2 MIAC) played their second game in New Hampshire against Saint Anselm College (8-4-0 overall, 4-4-0 ECAC). The final score was a disappointing 4-0 loss for Saint Benedict after three third period goals by the Hawks put the game out of reach.
The Blazers defense was strong for the first two periods as the Hawks put twenty shots on net. First-year goalie Jenna Traut characteristically only allowed one of those shots by for a score. Unfortunately, the offense struggled to get anything going as they had six shots on net going into the third.
The offense's troubles continued in the final period with only two shots on goal, finishing the game with a total of eight. The defense was unable to stop the Hawks as three of their 18 shots slipped passed Traut for scores, ending any comeback the Blazers were trying to put together.
Despite the score, the Blazers put forth great effort in today's game and will begin to work for their next match up. They will travel to Moorhead, Minn. to take on Concordia College on January 20 at 7 p.m.
