BOX SCORE
The College of Saint Benedict (3-10-3 overall, 1-4-3 MIAC) traveled to take on the Pipers of Hamline University (7-7-2 overall, 3-5-1MIAC) last night in Saint Paul. A two goal lead in the first period by the Pipers eventually led to the Blazers third straight loss this month.
Hamline took a 1-0 lead only five minutes into the first period on a power play goal. This wasn't the only penalty trouble Saint Ben's was in as they found the penalty box six total times for the whole game. The Pipers second goal came with only a minute left in the first, which sent them into the second period with not only a two goal lead but all of the momentum.
With an uneventful second period, the game stayed a 2-0 nothing Piper lead going into the third. Senior Captain Keri Graske showed some spark for the Blazers by putting their first points on the board. The goal put them only one score down with over twelve minutes left to play. Unfortunately, Saint Ben's would not get any more passed the Hamline defense, resulting in a 2-1 loss.
The Blazers will have a second chance against the Pipers at home on Saturday the 28
