The College of Saint Benedict Blazer soccer team (1-3 overall, 0-0 MIAC) faced the Knights from Wartburg today in Waverly, Iowa at 2 pm. The Blazers were outshot 13-8 by their non-conference opponent.

The first half was a strong point for the Blazers as they outshot the Knights three to one. The only shot Wartburg took slipped past first year goalkeeper Megan Favorite (Maple Grove, MN, Maple Grove)18:05 minutes into the period. The Blazers had three great goal scoring opportunities but Wartburg's Monica Noti would not allow the Blazers any momentum.

Shortyly into the second half Knight's Chelsea Frye headed one into the goal assisted from Rachel Torry. The Blazers defense let up a bit in the second half giving up 12 recorded shots. Megan Favorite block all but one of these giving the Blazers a chance to stay into the game. Colleen Bouchard (Cedar Rapids, IA, Xavier)added three shots however, momentum was rarely seen and a rally never started as the Blazers fell 2-0.

The Blazers return to action this Wednesday at home against conference opponent Macalester College at 4 pm.
