Hoping to finish the season on a positive note the College of Saint Benedict ice hockey team (4-14-3, 3-10-3) instead returns home for their last series of the season after absorbing an 8-1 loss by Saint Olaf this afternoon in Northfield, Minnesota.

The Blazers got on the scoreboard first when sophomore forward Ashley Olson (Fairmont, MN, Fairmont High School) netted her fourth goal of the season less than two minutes into the game to give Saint Benedict a 1-0 lead. She was assisted on the play by sophomore forward Alexandra Carlson (Prior Lake, MN, Academy of Holy Angels). The lead proved to be short lived however as the Oles scored 34 seconds later to start a string of eight consecutive goals.

The Blazers play their final two games of the season next weekend when they battle Saint Catherine at home on Friday and on the road Saturday. Faceoff for Friday's game is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
