The College of Saint Benedict Blazer volleyball team (18-12 overall, 8-3 MIAC) has qualified for the 2011 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Tournament. CSB is making its fourth tournament appearance in the last five seasons and the 16th overall appearance in school history. In their last 15 appearances, the Blazers have a record of 14-15 with their best finish being third in 1990.
Saint Benedict is 2-7 this season against teams in the Central Regional. The teams are Saint Benedict, St. Scholastica (26-6 overall, 13-1 UMAC) , UW-Eau Claire (22-12 overall, 7-1 WIAC), University of St. Thomas (29-4 overall, 10-1 MIAC), Bethel University (22-9 overall, 8-3 MIAC), Northwestern College (27-6 overall, 13-1 UMAC), Concordia-Moorhead (25-3 overall, 10-1 MIAC), and UW-Stevens Point (26-7 overall, 7-1 WIAC).
The Blazers begin tournament play at 12:30 pm on Friday, November 11th, in Moorhead, Minn. against St. Scholastica. CSB is 1-1 this season against the Saints. St. Scholastica took the first match 3-1 at the Augsburg Invitational. Saint Benedict won the second 3-1 at the Blazer Invite. The winner of the Saint Benedict/ St. Scholastica match will play the winner of the St. Thomas/ UW-Eau Claire match at either 3:30 pm or 6 pm on Saturday in Moorhead, Minn.
