Box Score

The College of Saint Benedict volleyball team (5-6 overall, 1-0 MIAC) defeated St. Catherine 3-2 in the Blazers' first match of the CSB Holiday InnVitational.  The scores of the sets were 22-25, 23-25, 25-23 25-12, and 15-5.

The Blazers were led by senior right side hitter Kayli Schumacher (East Grand Forks, MN, Sacred Heart), who had an impressive 16 kills for a .364 hitting percentage.  Schumacher also added eight blocks.  First-year outside hitter Lexi Alm (Stacy, MN, Forest Lake) totalled 15 kills for the Blazers, while senior libery Amber Wortz (Fairfax, MN, Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop) had 26 digs and first-year setter Kathyrn Gaydos (Savage, MN, Prior Lake) added 50 set assists.

CSB next faces St. Scholastica at 7 p.m. this evening to round out day one of the tournament.
