Senior volleyball player
Emma Jaynes (Hibbing, MN, Hibbing) was given the Presidential Award atthe CSB Blazers Awards Banquet this afternoon.
Academically, Jaynes has earned honors as CoSida First Team Academic All-Region and CoSida Third Team Academic All-American. She was recognized by ESPN-The Magazine as Academic All-District. In addition, this spring Jaynes received a postgraduate scholarship, one of the NCAA's most prestigious honors. She is one of only four CSB athletes to have achieved this honor in our 25 year NCAA history.
In addition to herstrength in the classroom, Jaynes has had an outstanding career in the Blazer volleyball program. She is a three-time All-MIAC selection and was named the 2007 and 2008 CSB Athlete of the Year. During the 2008 Central Region Tournament, Emma's performance contributed to their team's victory and an Elite 8 NCAA appearance as she earned All-Tournament MVP honors. Nationally, Emma has been named NCAA All Central Region, All-American Honorable Mention and Second Team All-American.
Jaynes has been involved with SAAC, the CSB/SJU Accounting Club, Habitat for Humanity, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Minnesota, Feed my Starving Children and Up 'Til Dawn. In addition, Emma has volunteered for Minnesota Taxes, Bridging, and as a workout partner for Hammer Incorporated.
