Sluggish was not the kind of start the College of Saint Benedict (2-16-4, 0-11-4) was looking for when they took on playoff contender Saint Olaf, but unfortunately it was what they found. Outshot 16-5, the Blazers found themselves in hole they were unable to dig out of losing 3-0 to the Oles tonight in Northfield.
 
Saint Benedict attempted to rally at the start of the second as the team was able to double their shots on goal from the period before. Despite getting quality chances off of two penalties, the Blazers were stymied by Saint Olaf goalie Jessica Ptachick, who stopped 21 shots overall.

The Blazers were led by sophomore forward Amie Ernst (North Mankato, MN, Mankato Loyola) and junior forward Gretchen Leyendecker (Rochester, MN, Lourdes), both who recorded four shots on goal.

Sophomore forward Lauren Herzog (Mendota Heights, MN, Convent of the Visitation) received the start for the Blazers, stopping 34 shots on net.
