The College of Saint Benedict Blazers soccer team (10-6-1 overall, 6-3-1 MIAC) tied MIAC opponent Macalester College (10-5-2 overall, 5-3-2 MIAC) 0-0 after two overtimes Thursday night in St. Paul, MN.

After a hard fought battle neither team was able to produce a goal to give their team another MIAC win.  Macalester outshot Saint Benedict 11-7 the first half.  Senior goalkeeper Maija Schmelzer (Rochester, MN, John Marshall) had one save for the Blazers after the first half.  Saint Benedict outshot Macalester 12-6 the second half, but washeld off by Macalester goalkeeper Rosie Glenn-Finer.  

The teams then headed into overtime.  CSB outshot Macalester 2-0, but were still unable to put one by the Macalester goalkeeper.  In the second overtime, the Blazers put outshot their opponent 7-1. Schmelzer made two saves for the Blazers.  Glenn-Finer made eight for Macalester.

Saint Benedict finishes regular season play on Saturday, October 30th, when they host MIAC opponent Concordia College-Moorhead (10-3-3 overall, 7-1-2 MIAC) at 12 pm in St. Joseph, MN.
