The College of Saint Benedict volleyball team (11-4 overall, 2-0 MIAC) defeated Bethel in a quick three sets, giving them their second win in MIAC play.
The Blazers controlled the first set from the start with a 10-5 lead over the Royals, continuing to pull ahead 20-7 and eventually winning 25-10.
The second set began much the same, with a 10-5 and 20-11 lead. Bethel began closing the gap, bring to score to a 23-20 CSB lead, but the Blazers held out and won 25-22.
The final set started close at 10-8, but the Blazers never backed down, winning 25-17 and grabbing another win in three sets.
Junior right side hitter
Kayli Schumacher (East Grand Forks, MN, Sacred Heart) led the Blazers with ten kills and a .471 hitting percentage. Junior middle hitter
Calleigh Brown (Buffalo, MN, Buffalo) contributed eight kills and four blocks, while senior outside hitter
Emma Jaynes (Hibbing, MN, Hibbing) added seven kills and ten digs for CSB.
Up next, the Blazers travel to Superior, Wis. to take on the Yellowjackets of the University of Wisconsin-Superior on Fri., Sept. 25 at 7 p.m.
