The College of Saint Benedict Blazers (3-2 MIAC, 6-3 overall) added another victory to their record after defeating St. Olaf College Oles (1-2-1 MIAC, 4-4-1 overall) this afternoon in St. Joseph, Minn. The Blazers beat the Oles 1-0. The Blazers have left their opponents scoreless in their last three games.

Heather Beshears (Maple Grove, MN, Maple Grove) scored her first collegiate goal at the 57:55 mark. Beshears was assisted by senior forward
Tina Lisk (Louisville, CO, Monarch) and junior midfielder
Alison Tourville. The Blazers defense was solid, holding the Oles to only five shots in both halves. Sophomore goalkeeper
Maija Schmelzer (Rochester, MN, John Marshall) rejected three Ole shots on goal. Both teams accumulated an aggressive 19 fouls.
"They played tough and physical. We won a lot of air balls, and we implemented our plan of attack very well," head coach Kate McNeil said of the victory.
The Blazers will take on former women's soccer players in the annual Alumnae game tomorrow, Sunday, September 28th at 11 a.m. The next MIAC match up will feature the Blazers versus Macalester College on Friday, October 3rd in St. Paul, Minn. at 7:30 p.m.
