This past weekend, the College of Saint Benedict track and field team endured the cold during its first outdoor meet of the season. The team had a solid meet despite the chilly weather, and junior Megan Sundstrom was named this week’s CSB Athlete of the Week because of her outstanding performance at the meet.
 
Sundstrom won the 400 hurdles in a personal best of 63.92 seconds, only .01 seconds off of the school record. Her new time is now the second fastest time in CSB history and is currently sixth in Division III and first in the MIAC.
 
Sundstrom also won the triple jump with a 12-centimeter personal best of 10.95 meters. That mark puts her at the number one spot in the MIAC and 18th in Division III. This is also the seventh-best triple jump in CSB history.
 
To top it off, Sundstrom was part of the 4x400-meter relay team that won with a time of 4:10.32. The relay time is now in the top 50 for Division III and is second in the MIAC.
 
The track and field team’s next meet is Saturday, April 1, at Hamline.
